Protégé Agency Producer Program
Exit 3 · No capital required

No capital yet?
There's still a path
for those willing to earn it.

The Protégé Agency Producer Program is designed for driven candidates who want agency ownership but haven't yet accumulated $100K in liquid assets. Partner with a mentor agent. Hit your production goals within 12 months. Graduate to ownership — with the $100K capital requirement waived.

Your 12-month road to agency ownership.

Get licensed & get matched

You'll need at minimum an active Property & Casualty license to enter the program (your Life & Health license must follow to hit production milestones). You're then paired with a qualified Lead Agent — an established agency owner — who mentors you through the program.

Start selling & hit milestones

You write policies under your Lead Agent's agency and work toward three defined production milestones over 9 months. Each milestone unlocks bonuses for your Lead Agent — and builds your track record toward graduation. Milestone 1 is $25K in new business gross premium within 3 months. Milestones 2 and 3 follow at 6 and 9 months respectively.

Complete required training

The New Agent Training Launch Program must be fully completed as part of your graduation requirements. Once you have an active agency email and account, you'll receive access to the Getting Started curriculum — a structured program designed specifically for new agents.

Graduate within 12 months

To graduate, you must hit Graduation Level 1 within 12 months: $150,000 in new business gross premium, 75 Personal Lines/Specialty policies, 6 Life policies issued & paid, 2 Business Insurance policies, and completed training. Hit Level 2 ($200K NB GFP, 100 policies) for an even higher graduation bonus.

Graduate to ownership — capital waived

Upon graduation, the standard $100K capital requirement is waived. You receive a Graduation Bonus of $6,000–$8,000, paid in two installments (50% at Reserve appointment, 50% at Full-time appointment). You're then eligible for the Retail or Acquisition program — and may qualify for turn-key book opportunities when an agency owner retires or sells.

Built for ambitious entrepreneurs.

What Exit 3 gives you

$100K Capital Waived at Graduation

The standard $100K liquid capital requirement is fully waived for Protégé graduates. Spend your 12 months building your skills and track record — not worrying about a capital hurdle.

$6,000–$8,000 Graduation Bonus

Graduate at Level 1 and receive a $6,000 bonus. Hit Level 2 ($200K in new business) and earn $8,000 — paid in two installments at Reserve and Full-time appointment.

Clear, Measurable Milestones

No ambiguity. Three milestone checkpoints at 3, 6, and 9 months give you a clear roadmap with defined premium and policy targets. You know exactly what winning looks like.

Two Paths Open at Graduation

Graduates qualify for both the Retail and Acquisition programs. You may also be eligible for turn-key book opportunities when an existing agency owner retires or sells — walking into ownership with an existing client base.

Common questions.

Exit 3 — common questions

Can I own an insurance agency in Texas without $100,000?

Yes. The Protégé Agency Producer Program exists specifically for candidates who want agency ownership but haven't accumulated $100K in liquid assets. You partner with a mentor agent, hit your production goals, and graduate to ownership with the capital requirement waived.

What license do I need to enter the Protégé program?

At minimum an active Property & Casualty license to enter. Your Life & Health license must follow in order to hit the production milestones.

How long does the Protégé program take?

Twelve months. You work toward three defined production milestones over the first nine months, which leaves room to finish strong and complete the path to ownership within the year.

Who mentors me during the program?

You're paired with a qualified Lead Agent — an established agency owner in the district who mentors you through the program. You write policies under their agency while building your own track record.

What's the difference between Protégé and the Associate Agent path?

Both remove the upfront capital barrier, but they get there differently: Protégé pairs you with a mentor agent on a 12-month milestone track, while Associate Agent has you office from the district and earn the capital requirement down as you produce.

Which cities does District 21 cover?

We recruit across the DFW Metroplex — including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, Arlington, Irving, McKinney, Denton, Richardson, and the surrounding North Texas communities.
